“Exploring the profound impact of the Venezuelan immigrant Christian community on transforming and enriching churches across the USA ”
To carry out this study I plan to work with churches that have a significant presence of the Venezuelan Christian community in various regions of the United States focusing on areas with high concentrations of Venezuelan immigrants such as New York Katy Miami Orlando Salt Lake City Herriman San Francisco and Lynden. I will collaborate with Venezuelan pastors leaders of Hispanic and Anglo churches and congregation members to gain a broad and representative perspective
Research Plan
1. Identification of Locations in the U.S.:
o Locations: New York Katy Miami Orlando Salt Lake City Herriman San Francisco Lynden.
o Purpose: Identify areas with the highest concentration of Venezuelans to conduct the study.
2. Identification of Locations in Venezuela:
o Locations: Identify geographic areas in Venezuela from which these Venezuelans come and their church backgrounds.
o Purpose: Understand the doctrinal backgrounds and church affiliations of the Venezuelans.
3. In-Depth Interviews and Surveys:
o Participants: Venezuelan and Anglo pastors church leaders and congregation members.
o Purpose: To understand both qualitatively and quantitatively the impact of Venezuelan leaders providing statistics and revealing general trends and perceptions.
4. Participant Observation:
o Locations: Religious services community events and church activities.
o Purpose: To offer a practical and real view of cultural integration and its influence on the daily practices of the church.
5. Archival Review:
o Sources: Historical church documents membership records and communication materials.
o Purpose: To provide historical context and allow comparison of growth and influence over time.
These combined strategies will offer an in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the impact that the Venezuelan Christian community has on churches across the United States. By employing a range of research methods I aim to uncover detailed insights into how these leaders and their congregations influence church dynamics and community engagement. This approach will enable me to identify specific opportunities for enhancing support recruitment and development for Venezuelan pastors and church leaders. Ultimately it will ensure that their integration into the broader church environment is both effective and beneficial fostering a more inclusive and dynamic spiritual community.
