In the summer of 2012, I will celebrate the 25th anniversary of my ordination and 25 years of continuous pastoral service to the church. I approach this milestone with great joy and humility and with a deep desire for renewal of heart, soul, mind and strength for the next season of ministry. I propose to accomplish this renewal through three different types of immersion.

First, I will immerse myself in the beauty and majesty of art and architecture through a four week pilgrimage to Europe. Second, I will immerse myself, through the time in Europe and a two month residency the San Francisco Bay Area, in time with my family which the day to day demands of ministry does not afford. Third, while living in the student housing of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, I will immerse myself in reading, reflection and conversation in the disciplines of theology, biblical studies, and worship arts.
