What Color is God, is a proposal to research effective multi-cultural ministry in North America in the 21st century. I intend to visit multi-cultural churches and meet with their key leadership in order to understand how the Spirit is living out this call today. In addition, I plan on studying what creates vibrant community in churches today. My goal is not just to build up a hodgepodge of people but to be used of God to create community across many lines that often divide. I am convinced this sabbatical will re-ignite in me a call to multi-cultural ministry and invite me to be a part of the discussion in the broader Christian community about multi-cultural churches. I also intend on spending significant time with my family. Faithful ministry includes the cost of often being on-call. My wife Micki, and children Mishaela age 7 and Jeremy age 10 are very supportive of my ministry in every way. They often join me in it. However I recognize the price ministry is demanding of them, and I would like to give something back to them. My church understands this cost; which is why they have a policy granting me a sabbatical.
