I propose a sabbatical of careful, deliberate, and varied listening experiences geared at refreshing body, soul and mind. This in response to a work situation whose pace and demands seem to encourage compressed, even frantic listening. Simply put, hope to take the time to listen, to hone my ability to listen, to enjoy the act of listening, to whet my desire for regular times of listening, and to learn from some focused listening in the area of worship. This will be achieved by listening to the voices of Scripture, of nature, of theologians, of the church at worship, of my loved ones and of my own heart.
