This project is the video component of a conference sponsored by the University of North Carolina, Wilmington called Women in Christianity: Uncovering Their Stories. The goal of this conference is to document and record the narratives of Southeastern North Carolina women leaders for whom Christianity is an arena of social transformation. The venue consists in a dialogue between scholars of Christianity and Christian women community leaders. The scholarly presentations, focusing on women leaders in Christian history, will place the contemporary contributions of these local women in context. Their testimonies, recorded and published, will become an important resource for teachers and students of religion.
Award winning film producer, Lou Buttino, will be the primary director and producer of the video component of the conference. We feel the goal of the conference is best attained through a medium that reaches, and touches, many people. Therefore we view the video component of the conference to be indispensable to its ultimate success.
