About this pastoral study project

The stories we tell are shaped and formed by the stories we live. What stories are shaping and forming young storytellers? Rather than dictate the type of work they must make, we believe intentional focus on spiritual formation and character development will prepare artists, makers and creatives to work with freedom and confidence as culture shapers. We desire to equip them to lead with artistic integrity and freedom along with deep spiritual grounding and rootedness so that they may sustain themselves as people and as artists over the course of their career. The Forming Young Emerging Leaders in the Arts Project asks how the deep story of Jesus can inform and shape their lives in more intentional ways and provide committed rhythms that will keep them grounded in that story. Using resources, tools and assessments for vocational, spiritual and character formation I will spend time researching the effects of concentrated attention in these areas in the lives of 15 young leaders over the course of a 12-month cohort based training.
