Dr. Telika McCoy is a Professor of Practical Ministry at Shaw University Divinity School, with expertise in theological responses to trauma, health and human services, and domestic abuse and violence. Her pastoral leadership within the local church has created thriving space for growth among congregants. She has served as keynote presenter and representative for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Campbell University, University of NC at Chapel Hill, hospital and hospice centers, and numerous faith communities nationwide. Her teaching, preaching, and service in South Africa have deepened her commitment to ministry that transcends borders. Moreover, studying abroad in Italy has enhanced her ability to connect across theological cultures. Dr. McCoy’s research focuses on oppression, disability, church-based violence, and leadership, with particular attention to practical ministry and the movement from theological intent to transformative action.
