Dr. Edwin Hernández joined the Louisville Institute in 2023 as Executive Director. He previously held the roles of President (2017-2023) and Provost (2015-2017) at AdventHealth University in Orlando, Florida. Additionally, he serves as a faculty affiliate at the Center for the Study of Religion and Society at the University of Notre Dame. Edwin is a sociologist of religion, holding a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University, and a B.A. in Theology from Loma Linda University. His research has focused on catalytic philanthropy, urban education, the Latino religious experience, theological education, and congregational studies. Additionally, Dr. Hernandez is ordained to the ministry within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
