About this first book grant for scholars of color

Racial Mammon explores how Christian theology has been shaped by, and can respond to, the intertwined forces of racism and capitalism. Drawing on the concept of racial capitalism, the project integrates Black and Latin American liberation theologies to reveal how economic exploitation and racial subordination are theologically linked. It proposes a new category—Racial Mammon—to describe how these forces shape our understanding of personhood, faith, and liberation.
